Altar server program

St. Charles Borromeo Parish encourages all young girls and boys to consider altar serving during Mass. Youth who are interested typically begin serving in the spring of their sixth grade year and continue through twelfth grade. Servers assist at the celebration of Mass, other liturgies and devotions. Training sessions are provided for those who are interested in serving.

Parishioners are encouraged to help by sharing their faith while serving as a catechist, classroom assistant, office helper, greeter or helper at one of our assemblies.

RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children)

Similar to RCIA (the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults), RCIC is a program for children between the ages of seven and 14 who have not been baptized. Older baptized children who are between eight and 14 years of age, but have not received their first communion, may be part of this program as candidates.

RCIC is open to parishioners who have children in need of preparation for these sacraments and for reception into the Roman Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil. Whether your family is just entering the church, is returning after time away, all are welcome.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School for children in kindergarten through sixth grade consists of a variety of hands-on activities and classes offered around the last week of June. This fun-filled week is an opportunity for children and families to share God's love through Bible stories, music, crafts, snacks and recreation. With new themes each year, children — and the adults and youth who assist them — go on a journey of faith and share adventures in coming to know our magnificent God.

Volunteers are welcome, including junior and senior high school students through adults. Registration forms for students and volunteers are available in the church vestibule in May of each year. We greatly need plenty of adult teachers and assistant volunteers in order to offer this terrific summer program.
