Holiday baskets program collects food for those in need this season

St. Charles Borromeo Parish supports its community through the fall and winter months through a variety of ways. One of the biggest is its holiday basket program which collects food for those in our community who need it.

Thanksgiving baskets provide well over a hundred families a full Thanksgiving dinner and meals for a week afterwards. Christmas baskets provide a week's worth of meals as well as necessities and toys.

To participate, please fill a grocery bag recycled from home with food items. Many different items are needed to provide families with a special Thanksgiving and Christmas meal, and a little extra for the days following. Your donation can be returned to one of the collection bins in either the church or school. Asked for especially are canned meats such as tuna and chili, peanut butter, jelly/jam and cereal.

What: Thanksgiving packing and sorting (no need to sign up)
When: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday November 20 through Friday November 22
Where: Feist Hall

What: Thanksgiving basket delivery day
When: 9 a.m. Saturday November 23
Where: Meet in Feist Hall

What: Christmas packing and sorting (no need to sign up)
When: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday December 18 through Friday December 20
Where: Feist Hall

What: Christmas basket delivery day
When: 9 a.m. Saturday December 21
Where: Meet in Feist Hall
