On the occasion of the Feast of St. Francis, many Catholics take time to ask God's continued blessings on our beloved pets and to offer thanks for the special place they hold in in our lives.

St. Francis is often linked with celebrations such as these because of his special affinity for God's creation which we see clearly in his Canticle of the Creatures and stories about his life.

It is a simple time to remember the goodness God provides us every day and to offer thanks and praise. Today at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, many Catholic families, complete with animals of all kinds in tow, did just that.

If you were unable to bring your pet today, know that the St. Charles Borromeo Parish community kept them in prayer.

May the Lord bless our pets and allow them continue to be sources of happiness in our lives. Happy Feast of St. Francis.
